Woofs for Help

We always have dogs and puppies that need much more care than we could ever hope to recoup with our modest adoption fees. While we are happy to absorb those costs on behalf of our precious animals, we sometimes put out a call for assistance for the special cases that are more exhorbitantly expensive.

Please consider helping these good dogs by making a tax deductible contribution using the convenient PayPal link at the right. If you would like more information about the dog and its' story, use our Contact Us page.

On behalf of our great dogs and puppies, thank you for anything that you are able to do.

Heartworm Treatment is a Regularly Recurring Expense

We often rescue dogs who are heartworm positive. They may be owner surrendered to us or come from a shelter. We may be unaware of their heartworm status before we commit to finding them a home. No matter, once we rescue a dog or puppy we are committed to getting it healthy so that it can be adopted to its' forever home.

Heartworm treatment is challenging for an animal. There are different degrees of heartworm infestation, ranging from light positive to strongly positive. In the most severe cases, the dog will need to undergo two treatment sessions of medications that are similar to treatment for cancer. While we have wonderful veterinary partners who offer us deeply discounted rates for heartworm treatment, the costs range between $150 and $250.

Here are some of our current dogs who are in need of heartworm treatment. Please read more about their stories, view more pictures, and consider making a donation to help offset the costs of treatment. Read more about heartworm infestation and treatment.

Jolly needs Cherry Eye Surgery

Jolly is a precious young male Cocker Spaniel we rescued from Memphis Animal Services the week before Christmas. He was certainly no pretty Christmas package at the time, as he was filthy, covered in horrible smelly mats that were dangling from his lovely ears and behind each front leg. Despite his looks, his unsinkable spirit and happy personality showed through.

Jolly needs a repair of a cherry eye, a relatively minor surgical procedure that costs around $200. Read more about cherry eye. We have already helped him recover from an upper respiratory infection, we will be getting him neutered, taking him to the groomer, and then he will have the eye surgery. Please consider donating to Jolly to support this surgery.

Here are some pictures of Jolly - which were taken PRE-grooming!
